Topical Quiz

What is Topical Quiz?

The Topical Quiz is five multiple-choice questions on what has actually happened in football recently — weekend results, completed transfers, managerial changes, European nights. It refreshes constantly, so unlike an all-time trivia quiz there is no way to grind it out from memory.

How to play Topical Quiz

1. 1Answer 5 multiple-choice questions about recent football events.
2. 2Each question has 4 options — pick the one you think is correct.
3. 3Your score is how many you get right, out of 5.
4. 4After each answer you see the right one, then move on when you're ready.
5. 5Questions cover recent matches, transfers, managerial changes, and football news.

Topical Quiz strategy

There is no memorising your way through this one, which is exactly why it is the fastest of the daily games to improve at — a weekend of following results is worth more than a season of trivia study. Midweek European fixtures and completed-but-underreported transfers are the two areas people most often drop points on. Trust your first instinct on anything you half-remember reading; on genuinely current events, recognition tends to be more reliable than reasoning.

• Stay up to date with weekend results and midweek European matches.
• Transfer rumours and confirmed deals feature regularly.
• Don't overthink it — your first instinct on current events is usually right.
