What is Name Them All?

Name Them All is a daily football list game. Each day there is one list: a league table, a World Cup squad, a run of cup winners. You have ten minutes to name everything on it. There are no turns and no wrong-guess penalties: type a name, and the moment it matches an answer it goes into its box, the input clears and you carry straight on with the next one.

How to play Name Them All

  1. Each day there is one list, with a box for every answer. Some boxes carry a label, such as a league position or a shirt number.
  2. Type answers in any order. A right answer goes in on its own, with no button to press.
  3. Surnames and common short names count, and small typos are forgiven on longer names.
  4. If what you type fits two answers, neither goes in. Add a first name to settle it.
  5. Press Enter to put in a name that's the start of another answer, such as Rodri when Rodrigo is also on the list.
  6. Two hints fill a clue into every empty box, one step at a time.
  7. The game ends at 0:00, when you give up, or when every box is filled. Anything you missed is shown at the end.

Name Them All strategy

Work the list in a pattern rather than at random. With a league table, go top to bottom and use the position labels; with a squad, go line by line from the goalkeepers forward. When the names dry up, switch angle: think of clubs by city, players by club, winners by decade. Save the hints for the last few minutes, when the gaps are the ones you genuinely can't see, and use the time left over to fill the boxes they open up.

  • Labels are clues: a shirt number or a finishing position narrows the answer down.
  • You don't need full names. "Spurs" and "Man Utd" both count.
  • "Already got" means that answer is already on the board. Clear what you typed and move on.
